Why rebuild the move-out statement?
A final bill can mix unpaid rent, cleaning, carpet, painting, repairs, utilities and miscellaneous fees. Recalculating each category separately makes it easier to spot a missing deposit credit, a duplicated charge or one unusually large line item.
What this calculator does not decide
The arithmetic can match or fail to match the statement, but arithmetic alone cannot determine whether a charge is permitted. Lease language, condition evidence, ordinary wear, item age, invoices and state-specific rules can all matter.
Best next step after the math
Start with the largest charge, then organize the records you already have. The evidence checklist separates lease/account records, condition photos, charge documentation and timeline proof before you open the applicable state rule or draft a written request.
