Connecticut Security Deposit Damage Itemization

When a Connecticut landlord keeps part of the security deposit for tenant obligations, the refund must be accompanied by a written statement itemizing the nature and amount of the claimed damages.

  • Unpaid rent or utility balance.
  • Physical damage beyond ordinary use.
  • Lock-change cost if applicable under the statute.

  • Invoice, estimate or other cost evidence.
