Oregon Rental Deposits After a Natural Disaster (2026)

Oregon’s 2026 session added a special rule for residential tenancies affected by natural disasters. When a dwelling unit is destroyed, the tenancy terminates immediately and the landlord must return deposits and prepaid rent pursuant to ORS 90.300, including prorated rent from the disaster date.
